Who Is Your Coach?

Hi, I'm Lisa C. Willis...

The Three Core Pillars

Resilience & Failure

Learn to use setbacks as fuel, not as a roadblock. I'll help you find the lessons in every loss.

Focus & Presence

Master the art of staying in the moment, blocking out distractions, and performing with clarity and confidence.

Confidence & Self-Talk

Develop an inner voice that champions you, not criticizes you. Build a deep, lasting sense of self-belief.

Why Start Now?

Because The Game is Happening NOW!

Most athletes don't think about mental training until college—and by then, they're already competing against players who have been building their mental game for years. By starting now, you’re not just preparing for the future; you're gaining a competitive advantage that you can use every time you step onto the field, court, or pool.

Let's Find What's Holding You Back

Come see what's possible in a "Try Out" session.

In this 60-minute session, we'll dive into what's in your mind. Maybe it's pre-game jitters, "stinking thinking", or just trying to find your focus. It's a chance for us to connect, and for you to experience what real mental training feels like—without any commitment. It's just a "try out"!

Hear From Athletes Like You

"Everything with Coach Willis had a purpose, and if I didn't understand something, I could ask a million questions to help me understand. This has helped because if I don't understand something now, I don't typically go looking for answers like most people. I go looking for questions, and I attack it from there."

SG - Player (middle school)

"After working with Lisa, my self-confidence soared. She created a positive and encouraging environment that made me feel comfortable and capable. Her passion and optimism gave me the confidence to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor, something I previously thought was impossible."

MG - Player (high school)

"Lisa has the ability to connect with her audience in a way that makes them comfortable enough to share their own experiences. Her events open the door for authentic conversation...motivating players who want to improve their game, on and off the court. Her approach to the game on and off the court was refreshing and genuine."

(FAQs)

What is mental performance coaching?

Mental performance coaching is like physical training for your mind. It's about teaching you the mental skills to perform your best when it matters most. We focus on building confidence, managing pressure, staying focused, and bouncing back from mistakes. It's not therapy; it's a practical, skill-based approach to get you playing at your peak.

I'm not a pro athlete. Is this really for me?

Absolutely. Mental skills are not just for the pros—they're for anyone who wants to gain a competitive edge. Your mindset is the foundation of your performance, regardless of your age or skill level. The earlier you start training your mind, the bigger the advantage you'll have over your competition.

How is this different from sports psychology or therapy?

Sports psychology often addresses clinical issues and mental health concerns. While these are important, my coaching focuses on practical performance skills. I don't diagnose or treat mental health conditions; I provide you with tools and strategies to help you perform better on the field.

How long does it take to see results?

Just like physical training, mental training requires practice and consistency. Most athletes see a difference in their mindset and performance within a few weeks of consistently applying the skills we work on. The small shifts you make daily add up to big results over time.

What makes you qualified to be my coach?

I've lived the highs and lows of the game. I was a young athlete who learned firsthand how to overcome adversity after a major injury. I was resilient enough to go on and play in the WNBA, win a gold medal, and get inducted into the UCLA Hall of Fame. These experiences have taught me the power of a tough mindset. I'm not just a coach who reads from a book; I've been in your shoes, and I'm passionate about helping you get through the same challenges I faced.

What will our sessions be like?

Our sessions are a safe and supportive space for you to open up about the mental challenges you face in your sport. We'll talk about what's holding you back, and I'll give you clear, actionable strategies and "mental drills" you can start using right away. You'll leave each session with a plan to build your mental game.

Do you work with parents and coaches?

While my program is primarily for athletes, I believe that a supportive environment is crucial for success. In the future, I will be offering resources and sessions for parents and coaches to help them better support their athletes and create a positive, growth-oriented culture. If you can't wait, email me at [email protected]!

What is the "Try Out" session?

The "Try It Out" session is a 60-minute introductory session for us to connect. It's a low-cost, low-commitment way for you to experience what mental performance coaching feels like. We'll talk about your goals and struggles, and I'll give you one or two actionable tools you can use immediately.

What happens after the first session?

If you feel we're a good fit, we can discuss a package that's right for you. My packages are designed to provide consistent support and help you build your mental skills over time. We'll create a plan to work together toward your goals.

Do you offer a refund if I'm not happy?

I am confident in my ability to help you. I'm dedicated to providing a valuable experience in every session. If, for any reason, you feel a package is not the right fit for you after the "Try It Out" session, there's no obligation to continue.
